Update: I paid for a diagnostic. That is what I took my car in for and I was very clear on that when I filled out the booking form online. I asked for the details of the diagnosis as normally I get a print out to which I did not. I requested for the information about the diagnosis that I PAID FOR to be related to my partner because I'm not mechanically inclined and knew he would understand it better. He DID NOT harass you on the phone and ask for free advise. He asked about the diagnosis and then why it was not working properly when I left which also shows that there was no test drive before handing the car over to me. Then, I get home and we opened the hood together to find that disconnection. I apologize for not saying the correct mechanical term for it but really, like I mentioned, I am not mechanically if inclined. No, it was not removed by us. It was noticed without touching under the hood at all. Instead of being accountable and taking responsibility for your company's own mess up, you chose to attack your customer's truth online. That is incredibly un-professional, dismissive, rude, arrogant, and abrasive. You just demonstrated on your own review the truth that I wrote. I would not recommend this shop. I found him to be impatient and abrasive. Then, when i left, my car was worse because they didn't put it back together properly. I went back and they did fix that. But when i got home which is out of town, my partner checked under my hood as it was still running worse then their assessment and a hose wasn't put on. That's two mistakes based on not checking their work properly.
Hi Natasha, I am sorry to hear you were not satisfied with your experience with us. Our technician found you had a parasitic draw on your battery as well as a misfire on a cylinder in your engine. You were informed that in order to find out what was causing the battery issue we would need more time to investigate, which you declined yet proceeded to try to fish for free diagnostic information and instructions to give to your partner so he could try to do it instead. Unfortunately we are a vehicle repair shop, not a DIY advice source. Our technicians complete several years of NAIT technical training and on the job experience to perfect and hone their skills to be able to offer their expertise and service while being paid accordingly. While you may find our unwillingness to share this information with you abrasive, it would be unfair to expect us to give away our diagnostic services to you for free. The procedure to find a parasitic draw required us to disconnect the battery. This caused the throttle body position to relearn, causing low idle and stalling which you brought to our attention very angrily when you picked up your car. We corrected this by cleaning the carbon build up which is a common occurrence in this situation. While this was being done, you had your partner harass us on the phone for diagnostic information. We fixed the problem, test drove the vehicle and returned it to you. Your vehicle was misfiring, running on 3 cylinders, had no power steering and was barely running with over 400k kms when it came in yet you declined all further service from us therefore it was returned back to you in the same condition. The picture you have attached clearly shows you have disconnected your MAF air flow sensor. That is not a hose, and we did not leave that disconnected. Most likely your partner was tinkering around again and disconnected it. Clearly you are very disgruntled that we would not give you the information you were prying for. Please understand we are a business that provides a service for hire. In the future please refer to YouTube or ChatGPT.
